Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Renew Partnership with Netflix
In a recent announcement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have extended their partnership with Netflix through their production company, Archewell Productions, in a multiyear deal. This collaboration, which began in 2020, has already resulted in a variety of documentary content, including the well-received series “Harry & Meghan.”
Meghan expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that the couple is motivated by their collaborators at Netflix and their team at Archewell Productions. They aim to produce meaningful content that resonates with audiences around the globe.
The partnership has also led to projects such as the documentary series “Polo,” “Heart of Invictus,” and “Live to Lead.” Additionally, they plan to release a second season of “With Love, Meghan,” a lifestyle and cooking show featuring the Duchess, which will include a special holiday episode this December.
Despite being Netflix’s most-watched cooking show since its debut in March, “With Love, Meghan” garnered 5.3 million views, ranking modestly among other releases in the first half of the year.
They are also working on a short documentary titled “Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within,” which highlights a small orphanage in Uganda, and a feature adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel, “Meet Me at the Lake.”
Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, acknowledged Harry and Meghan’s influence, noting that their stories connect with audiences around the world.
This renewed deal is part of the couple’s broader efforts to establish themselves in the United States, having previously signed a multiyear deal with Spotify in 2020. However, their partnership with Spotify ended in 2023. The couple is now building a life in California with their two young children, distancing themselves from the British royal family.
