Rahmel Lundy Obituary, Death; – A man from Huntington was taken into custody on Monday morning in relation to a shooting incident that resulted in one fatality on Thursday in Huntington.
Amar Abdu Richardson, aged 23, is alleged to have shot and killed 33-year-old Rahmel Lundy, also from Huntington, on March 20, at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of 7th Avenue. Richardson was arrested by officers from the Huntington Police Department in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service in the 2000 block of 11th Avenue.
He faces charges of first-degree murder. Following the arrest, Huntington Mayor Patrick Farrell praised the efforts of the Huntington Police Officers and U.S. Marshals Service members involved in the apprehension of Richardson.
“I extend my gratitude to our Huntington Police officers and the U.S. Marshals Service for their swift and coordinated actions in this case. Their work conveys a strong message: those who engage in violence in our city will face consequences. As the investigation progresses, our dedication to public safety remains steadfast, as ensuring the safety of our neighborhoods is our top priority,” Farrell stated.
The investigation remains active.
