Rene Enriquez Obituary, Death;- A jury convicted a man on Thursday for the murder of another individual and the subsequent disposal of the victim’s body in a barrel, according to a spokesperson for the court.
The jury delivered a guilty verdict against Ryan Bentley, 45, on charges of murder involving a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit murder. Following his arrest in 2022, law enforcement officials accused Bentley of killing Rene Enriquez at a residence located near Washington Avenue and Jones Boulevard. The remains of Enriquez were later found in a barrel by a county worker near Quail Avenue and Palm Street.
Court documents indicate that prosecutors and detectives claimed Bentley shot Enriquez due to allegations that he had informed on Bentley and his associates. Enriquez was characterized as a “friend of a friend” of Bentley and was reportedly planning to move into Bentley’s residence, as stated in the documents.
The coroner’s office was able to identify Enriquez’s remains through his tattoos, according to the documents. A judge is scheduled to impose sentencing on Bentley on April 24.
