Rinaldo Bankston Obituary, Death; – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has confirmed the identity of a man who passed away while in the custody of the Memphis Police Department (MPD). Rinaldo Bankston, aged 54, died on Tuesday, February 4, as reported by the TBI.
According to the MPD, Bankston suffered a “medical emergency” shortly after being taken into custody at approximately 1:50 a.m. Officers had responded to a disturbance on Rayner Street, located near East Person Avenue in South Memphis. The police indicated that Bankston was implicated in the kidnapping of a woman.
Authorities stated that officers provided assistance to Bankston, and he was subsequently transported to Methodist University by first responders, where he was pronounced dead. Shawna Isaac, a neighbor of the deceased, expressed her astonishment at the incident.
“I often saw him sitting on the porch with his little puppy. When I took my dog out, we would occasionally chat. It was a friendly relationship. I never imagined something like this would occur,” Isaac remarked.
