Robert Kenny,Jerry Rivera Obituary, death; – Earlier this month, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Ellis Drive, where two individuals were discovered deceased. The deceased were identified by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office as 57-year-old Robert Kenny and 45-year-old Jerry Rivera.
On Monday, the ECSO concluded its investigation, determining that the deaths of Kenny and Rivera resulted from a murder-suicide incident. According to law enforcement, Rivera had invited Kenny to his home on Ellis Drive in the late afternoon of February 1st. At some point during the visit, it was reported that Kenny was fatally shot by Rivera, who subsequently took his own life.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has stated that autopsies are currently being performed on both individuals.
