Salvador Ramirez Rojas Obituary, Death; – The San Bernardino County Coroner has identified the passenger who tragically lost their life in a crash on the northbound 15 Freeway in Apple Valley on Saturday, February 22, 2025. As reported on the coroner’s website, Salvador Ramirez Rojas, a 79-year-old resident of Sun Valley, was declared deceased at the scene of the accident.
The incident took place around 6:12 a.m. near Dale Evans Parkway, when a white 2019 Audi Q5 left the roadway and rolled over several times. First responders were notified of the situation via an iPhone TC alert, with dispatchers reporting a female moaning in the background of the call.
Upon their arrival, emergency personnel discovered the vehicle extensively damaged, situated far off the freeway in a desert area. California Highway Patrol (CHP) records indicate that the Audi rolled over seven times before coming to a halt.
Firefighters promptly worked to extricate the critically injured driver and one passenger, while a fourth individual sustained less severe injuries. Two helicopters were dispatched to airlift the critically injured victims to a trauma center, while the individual with less critical injuries was transported by ground to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Apple Valley.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with the California Highway Patrol continuing their inquiries. In a comment on the original article, a witness named GeorgeDavid G. expressed his condolences and shared his experience of the tragic event:
“My heartfelt sympathies for your loss. I witnessed this devastating incident and am still processing what I observed. If it offers any solace, the vehicle was not exceeding the normal flow of traffic. The overcorrection occurred rapidly, leading to the subsequent rollover just as swiftly. I called 911 and attempted to assist the passengers. Although I could do little, I provided as much comfort as possible, speaking to the rear passenger and assuring her that help was on the way, while I held the passenger.”
