Sherri Duncan,Hailey Hopcu Obituary, Death;- The Platte County Sheriff’s Office has brought forth a series of charges against an individual accused of fatally shooting three women in a residence located in north Kansas City.
Armando Navarro faces three counts of first-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action, one count of first-degree assault, and one count of animal abuse related to the incident.
Law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire near NW 65th Street and Green Hills Road around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday. According to recently released charging documents, a fourth victim, who had sustained gunshot wounds, sought assistance at a nearby residence and alerted the authorities.
Upon their arrival, officers were led to a location where they found three individuals with gunshot injuries. All three were declared dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as follows:
– Jodie Hopcus, age 49
– Sherri Duncan, age 73
– Hailey Hopcus, age 24
Additionally, police discovered a dog within the home that had also suffered a fatal gunshot wound. The fourth victim identified Navarro as the alleged shooter and reported that he fled the scene in a 2020 Ford Expedition belonging to one of the victims.
This vehicle was later located in Abilene, Kansas, where Navarro was apprehended. Charging documents further indicate that a man contacted 911 to request a welfare check on the victims, mentioning that he had conversed with Navarro, who allegedly confessed to having “killed them all.” No further information is currently available.
