LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An inmate that walked away from a southern Indiana work detail is back in custody.
The Indiana Department of Corrections said in a release on Thursday that Michael Anderson, 21, was caught near Salem, Indiana.
The Salem Police Department located Anderson during a traffic stop. IDOC said he tried to run from officers but was quickly captured.
Anderson is an inmate at the Edinburgh Correctional Facility. The Jackson County Dispatch posted on social media Wednesday afternoon that Michael Anderson walked away from his work detail near Vallonia Tree Nursery.
The case is still under investigation, and Anderson may face additional charges including escape, resisting law enforcement and theft.
