A young man is in the hospital getting better after a scary attack in Australia.

Jacob Thompson, who is 19 years old, was walking down a street in Coonabarabran, Australia, on October 13 when something terrible happened. Police say that a man and two women came up to him around 6 p.m. The man supposedly poured a liquid on Jacob and then set him on fire.

People nearby helped put out the fire, and Jacob was quickly taken to the hospital. He has very bad burns, called third-degree burns, all over his body. Because of how serious his injuries are, doctors had to put him in a coma.

Soon after the attack, police went back to the same street because of another problem. They arrested three people: Aaron Valette, 19, Mavis Chatfield, 45, and a 17-year-old girl.

Valette and Chatfield are now in jail. Valette is accused of hurting Jacob on purpose and causing a fight. Chatfield is also accused of being in the fight. The teenage girl was let go while the police continue to investigate.

The court said that Valette will stay in jail until his next court date in November.

People are trying to help Jacob by donating to a special fund. The money will help pay for his medical bills, mental health support for his family, and to help them move to a safer place.

The people who started the fund said that Jacob was attacked in a very cruel way. They said he has burns on his face, arms, legs, and back. They also said that Jacob’s family saw what happened, and it was very upsetting for them.

The fund is to help Jacob get the care he needs and to help his family feel safe again. They are thankful for all the support they have received during this difficult time.
