John Risati Boyd, better known as J.R., went missing from Cleveland, TN, in 2023. Neither he nor his silver 2016 Nissan Rogue have been found.
J.R. moved back to Tennessee from Hawaii in June 2019. In 2020, he graduated from Walker Valley High School. In 2022, he started working and got his own apartment in Cleveland, TN.
He was an avid gamer and spent a lot of time online. He often made online friendships with individuals he never met in person, and he had an online girlfriend.
J.R. left his apartment on January 7th, 2023. He left behind his kitten, gaming systems, laptop, and almost all of his personal belongings.
Since his disappearance, his family has received alarming information from two different sources. The first was a message his sister received from a friend of his on Instagram that said J.R. had messaged him saying that he had plans of harming himself. The friend said that he never heard from J.R. again. After that, his “online girlfriend” reached out and told the family that they were wasting their time because he would never be found.
This “online girlfriend” is also the last person J.R. spoke with on the phone. Records show that the call was placed in Cleveland, TN, just a few miles from his apartment.
Since that final call, his phone has not been used. He has not been on any of his online accounts, and his bank account has not been used.
Adam Brown Adventures and Exploring with Nug have been involved with the search, but so far, no signs of J.R. or his vehicle have been found.
At the time of his disappearance, J.R. was described as a 20-year-old male, 5′ 9″ tall, 134 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.
He was driving his 2016 Nissan Rogue with McMinn County, TN license plate 750-BJPY.
