The St. Louis County Police are urgently requesting the public’s assistance in locating 41-year-old Steven Reed, who has gone missing under concerning circumstances. His disappearance has raised serious concerns for his safety.

    What Happened

Steven Reed, a 41-year-old man from St. Louis County, Missouri, was last heard from on the evening of August 19, 2025. The next day, his vehicle—a silver 2010 Honda Accord—was found abandoned in the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area, a large natural preserve located north of St. Louis along the Missouri River.

The discovery of his vehicle in such a remote area, known for its dangerous marshlands, has intensified concerns for Steven’s wellbeing. Given the environmental hazards of the area and the lack of contact with family or friends since his disappearance, authorities believe Steven may be in danger and urgently need help.

    Reactions

Steven’s family and friends are distraught over his sudden disappearance. With no known whereabouts or contact from him since August 19, they are fearing for his safety, especially since his vehicle was found in an isolated part of the conservation area. Authorities have launched a search operation in the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area, spanning over 4,200 acres, in hopes of finding Steven or any clue that could lead to his whereabouts.

The St. Louis County Police Department has shared Steven’s description to aid in the search:

    • Age: 41
    • Height: 5’6″
    • Weight: 155 lbs
    • Hair: Short black
    • Eyes: Brown
    • Notable: Tattoo on his left arm

    What’s Next

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Steven’s whereabouts or his last movements to come forward. If you’ve seen Steven or his vehicle, or if you know anything about where he may be, please contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 636‑529‑8210 or call 911. Anonymous tips are encouraged and will be kept confidential.

The community is being urged to stay vigilant and share this missing person alert to help raise awareness and increase the chances of finding Steven. The search continues in the hope that someone may have seen something that could assist the investigation.
