LUBBOCK, Texas — Early Sunday morning, the quiet hum of the city was shattered by a devastating accident that claimed the life of 25-year-old Andre Buckman. At 10:49 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the intersection of 43rd Street and Milwaukee Avenue, where they found Buckman suffering from severe injuries. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit, the incident occurred when Buckman was traveling southbound on Milwaukee Avenue at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. As he approached the intersection with 43rd Street, an SUV waiting in the left-turn lane began to turn left. The two vehicles collided, leading to the fatal crash.

The impact was devastating. Witnesses described hearing a loud crash, followed by a plume of dust and debris. The motorcycle, a sleek black Harley-Davidson, was found mangled beneath the front bumper of the SUV. The rider, later identified as Buckman, was ejected upon impact, landing several feet away. The SUV came to a stop just past the crosswalk, its front end crumpled from the collision.

Emergency medical personnel arrived within minutes, but despite their best efforts, Buckman could not be revived. His death has left the community in shock and mourning. Friends and family remember him as a vibrant young man with a passion for motorcycles and a love for adventure. He was known for his infectious smile and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are reviewing traffic camera footage and speaking with witnesses to determine all contributing factors to the crash.

As the investigation continues, the community has rallied around Buckman’s family. A memorial has been set up at the crash site, with flowers, candles, and messages of support. Local businesses have also shown their support, offering condolences and assistance to the grieving family.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers on the road and the importance of caution and awareness while driving. The Lubbock Police Department urges all motorists to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic laws to prevent such tragedies in the future.

In the wake of this loss, friends and family are left to remember a young man whose life was taken too soon. Buckman’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his story serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment.
