David James Blair Death and Obituary –  The Coleraine community is mourning the loss of David James Blair, a beloved resident whose life touched the hearts of many. David passed away peacefully at his home on August 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. His departure marks the end of a life characterized by warmth, kindness, and devotion to those he held dear.

Born and raised in Northern Ireland, David lived a life that reflected strong values, deep compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and community. Friends and neighbours describe him as a man of quiet strength, known for his integrity, generosity, and readiness to lend a helping hand. Whether it was sharing stories over a cup of tea, offering guidance to those in need, or simply being a steadfast presence in the lives of others, David made an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

His home in Coleraine was more than just a place of residence—it was a welcoming haven for friends, relatives, and visitors alike. David’s warmth extended far beyond his own family, as he treated everyone with the same respect and kindness he gave to those closest to him. His ability to connect with people on a personal level, coupled with his genuine interest in their well-being, earned him lasting friendships across the years.

David’s family was the center of his world, and his love for them was evident in every aspect of his life. His children and grandchildren were a constant source of pride and joy, and he devoted himself fully to nurturing, supporting, and guiding them. His legacy lives on not only through the memories they hold but also through the values he instilled—love, respect, hard work, and compassion.

In keeping with David’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be held on Thursday at 3:00 PM at Wades Funeral Home. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together, share cherished memories, and honor a life well-lived. Following the service, a private cremation will take place at a later date, allowing his family to bid their farewells in their own personal and intimate way.

The Blair family has requested that flowers or donations be made in David’s memory to Marie Curie, a charity that provides care and support to people living with terminal illness. This choice reflects David’s lifelong belief in helping others and his family’s gratitude for the compassionate care provided during his final days.

As Coleraine says goodbye to one of its cherished residents, those who knew David James Blair will remember him not for the day he left, but for the countless days he lived—days filled with love, laughter, generosity, and a steadfast dedication to the people and community he cherished. His presence will be missed, but the lessons he taught and the kindness he shared will live on, echoing through the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
