The Cleveland, Georgia community is mourning the devastating loss of 21-year-old Kinsey Grice, who tragically died in a car accident on Sunday evening, August 24, 2025. The fatal crash occurred in Towns County along Highway 75 through Unicoi Mountain, a road known for its beauty but also its dangerous curves.

    Details of the Accident

According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Kinsey was driving a Toyota Avalon northbound when her vehicle unexpectedly crossed the center line. The car left the roadway, plummeting approximately 80 feet down an embankment before overturning and coming to rest.

Emergency responders were dispatched just before 10 p.m. and located the vehicle near Indian Gap Grove Road. Despite their immediate efforts, Kinsey could not be revived. The Towns County Coroner’s Office pronounced her deceased at the scene. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Authorities reported that weather and road conditions were clear at the time, and no other vehicles were involved. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the accident, noting that the Avalon left the roadway “for an unknown reason.”

    Dangerous Mountain Roadway

Highway 75 through Unicoi Mountain has long been considered one of North Georgia’s most scenic but hazardous routes. Its sharp curves, blind spots, and steep grades have been the site of numerous serious accidents over the years. Officials continue to urge drivers to exercise extreme caution, especially during nighttime travel.

The Georgia State Patrol has reminded motorists of the importance of safe driving practices such as wearing seatbelts, observing posted speed limits, and minimizing distractions while navigating mountain highways.

    Community in Mourning

Kinsey’s sudden passing has left her family, friends, and the Cleveland community heartbroken. At just 21, she was a young woman with her whole future ahead of her, and her loss has created a profound void in the lives of those who loved her.

Tributes and condolences have been pouring in across social media, with community members expressing their sorrow and support for the grieving family.

    Ongoing Investigation

The accident remains under investigation, and officials encourage anyone with additional information to contact the Georgia State Patrol’s Gainesville Post.

Though her life was tragically cut short, Kinsey Grice will be remembered with love and fondness by all who knew her. Her memory serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of safety on the road.
