Dakota Johnson, known for her role in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” grew up in Hollywood with famous parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, and stepfather Antonio Banderas. She says this upbringing shaped her life in many ways.

Johnson told Vogue Germany that she was always around movies because of her parents’ jobs. She knew her family’s life was different from other kids whose parents worked in offices. Because her family traveled a lot, it was hard to make lasting friendships. But she accepted it as part of her family’s way of life.

Growing up, Johnson wanted to be an actress like her parents. She loved watching movies, especially with other kids, and felt it sparked her imagination. However, her parents only allowed her to act in a small role with her mother in “Crazy in Alabama” until after she finished high school.

Having famous parents wasn’t always easy. Johnson recalls times when fans would aggressively try to get to her mom, which was scary. She believes that growing up in the public eye can be invasive and painful, but there are also good things about it.

Dakota’s mother, Melanie Griffith, was married to Don Johnson twice, and later to Antonio Banderas. Dakota herself was in a long-term relationship with “Coldplay” singer Chris Martin until recently.
