Matthew Wilson Plymouth, MA Death and Obituary – The Plymouth, Massachusetts community is mourning the loss of Matthew Wilson, an 18-year-old whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal car crash on Friday, October 24, 2025. The devastating accident occurred on State Road (Route 3A), near 129 State Road in Plymouth, around 8:30 a.m., leaving one dead and two others injured.

According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, the crash involved two vehicles: a 2025 white Honda Civic, driven by Matthew Wilson, and a 2020 gray Jeep Grand Cherokee. Preliminary reports indicate that Wilson’s vehicle lost control, crossing over the solid double yellow line before colliding head-on with the Jeep traveling in the opposite direction.

The impact of the collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles, prompting an immediate response from emergency personnel, including Plymouth police, fire, and EMS. Authorities worked swiftly to extricate the victims from the wreckage.

Matthew Wilson was found unresponsive and trapped inside his Honda Civic. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, he was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

A 16-year-old passenger in Wilson’s vehicle was also injured and taken to South Shore Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, whose identity has not been released, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was likewise taken to South Shore Hospital.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the crash. The Plymouth Police Department, in coordination with the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit and the District Attorney’s Office, is analyzing roadway conditions, vehicle data, and witness statements. While early findings suggest Wilson’s vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, officials have not determined whether speed, distraction, or other factors contributed to the collision.

No criminal charges have been filed at this time, and officials have stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing.

News of Matthew Wilson’s death has sent shockwaves through the Plymouth community, particularly among students and staff at his former high school. Friends describe Matthew as a kind, motivated young man with a bright future ahead of him. Social media has since been flooded with tributes and condolences, as loved ones remember his warm personality, sense of humor, and compassion.

A candlelight vigil is being organized by friends and classmates to honor Matthew’s memory and offer support to his grieving family. Community leaders have also emphasized the importance of safe driving, particularly among young drivers, as this tragic loss serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly life can change.

The death of Matthew Wilson has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew him. As investigators work to determine what led to the fatal crash, the Plymouth community continues to rally together, offering prayers and comfort to the Wilson family during this time of unimaginable grief.
