In the early hours of Saturday, October 25, 2025, the tight-knit community of Vestavia Hills was struck by an unimaginable tragedy. At approximately 3:26 a.m., a devastating crash occurred on Interstate 459 South near Acton Road, claiming the lives of 23-year-old Cambraya Sharondae Broach and her unborn child. Cambraya, a resident of Northport, was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the multi-vehicle collision. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, transporting her to UAB Hospital, where, despite extensive life-saving efforts, both Cambraya and her unborn child were pronounced dead around 4:00 a.m. .

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. While details remain limited, authorities are examining various factors, including vehicle speed, road and weather conditions, and traffic flow at the time of the incident. Investigators are also reviewing witness statements and any available surveillance footage to determine what led to the vehicle leaving the roadway. The identities of the other occupants of the vehicle have not been publicly released, and the investigation is ongoing.

The loss of Cambraya and her unborn child has left the Vestavia Hills community in mourning. Friends, family, and neighbors have expressed their heartbreak over the loss of such a young life filled with promise. Cambraya was remembered as a kindhearted, joyful young woman whose presence touched everyone around her. Local officials have also taken the opportunity to remind drivers of the importance of roadway safety, particularly during early morning hours when visibility and alertness may be reduced. They stress the need for drivers and passengers alike to remain vigilant, avoid distractions, and always wear seat belts to reduce the risk of fatal injuries.

As the investigation continues, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identities of the victims to provide closure for the family. Updates regarding the findings of the investigation and any contributing factors will be released as more information becomes available.

This tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of how fragile life can be and the unpredictable dangers that exist on roadways. As her loved ones grieve this unimaginable loss, the community continues to surround them with love, prayer, and support during this painful time.

In summary, Cambraya Sharondae Broach, 23, of Northport, and her unborn child lost their lives in a crash on I-459 South near Acton Road early Saturday morning. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash as family, friends, and community members mourn the loss of a beloved young woman and her child.
