It started as an angry visit about child support. It ended with a corrections officer in handcuffs, out of a job, and facing serious felony charges. The quiet routine of a Georgia Department of Family and Children Services office was shattered when 25-year-old Quantraves Hall, an officer sworn to uphold order, allegedly decided to take four employees prisoner.

Police say Hall showed up at the DFCS office in Savannah furious over his child support payments. But his anger quickly crossed a dangerous line. After entering the building, investigators state he deliberately locked the front door, trapping four workers inside with him. In that instant, a personal grievance became a criminal act.

For those employees, a normal workday vanished. Authorities report Hall began yelling and unleashing a torrent of verbal abuse on the trapped workers, all while raging about his financial obligations. The situation escalated further when he then tried to force his way into a restricted, employees-only area of the office, a move that prompted security to finally intervene and remove him.

Hall left the scene before police could arrive. But in a surprising twist, he later showed up at the police station on his own. He wanted to tell his side of the story. During that interview, detectives say he calmly admitted to locking the door, using offensive language, and attempting to access the secure area.

That cooperation apparently didn’t last. According to police, Hall’s demeanor shifted. He grew argumentative, openly questioning why he was being charged for the incident at the DFCS office. His admissions during the interview, however, had already laid the groundwork for his arrest.

The Savannah Police Department booked Quantraves Hall on eight felony counts: four counts of false imprisonment and four counts of terroristic threats and acts. Each of the four DFCS employees he allegedly trapped represents a separate charge, painting a stark picture of the scope of the incident.

The consequences came swiftly. The Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed Hall was immediately terminated from his position as a corrections officer following his arrest. The man once tasked with supervising inmates is now on the other side of the bars, his career in ruins over a single, explosive visit to a state office.
