TEMPLE HILLS, Md. — Early on the morning of January 3, the parking lot of a Temple Hills banquet hall turned into a scene of chaos and heartbreak when gunfire erupted and three men lost their lives. The violence, still under investigation by Prince George’s County police, left friends and family reeling and the community searching for answers.

Around 2:10 a.m., officers were called to the 4300 block of St. Barnabas Road after reports of shots fired outside the banquet hall. When they arrived, first responders found three adult men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, police confirmed.

The first victim identified was 27-year-old Ronez Proctor of Waldorf, who was struck during the outbreak of violence. Alongside him, 33-year-old Pierre Davis and 26-year-old Kevon Medley Williams, both residents of Washington, D.C., also died. Investigators believe Davis and Medley Williams exchanged gunfire with each other during the confrontation before they were both fatally hit.

Law enforcement sources say surveillance footage and ballistic evidence show that 39-year-old Antonio Lancaster of Landover was present in the parking lot and fired shots at Proctor and Medley Williams for reasons that have not yet been fully explained by detectives. After the initial gunfire, Davis and Medley Williams drew weapons and exchanged rounds with each other before all the shots were done.

Lancaster fled the scene after the shooting, but a coordinated effort by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and local law enforcement led to his capture in Fairfax County, Virginia, the following day. He is currently being held in Virginia while authorities work to extradite him back to Prince George’s County.

Officials have charged Lancaster with first- and second-degree murder in connection with Proctor’s death and additional charges relating to the overall incident. Detectives believe Lancaster and the victims were known to each other, though they are still trying to understand what sparked the deadly confrontation.

Friends and community members describe the loss of the three men as devastating. Local police are urging anyone with information to come forward through Crime Solvers online, the P3 Tips mobile app, or by calling the tip line, all with the option to remain anonymous.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue to collect evidence and piece together the moments leading up to the shooting that shook this quiet Maryland neighborhood.
