Elizabeth Debicki Steps Into a New Hollywood Chapter, From Sundance to a Fincher Film

Elizabeth Debicki has been quietly building one of the most interesting careers of her generation.
This winter, that momentum became impossible to miss.

Speaking at the Jan. 24 Sundance Film Festival premiere of her new film Wicker, Debicki shared news that immediately caught attention: she has just wrapped filming on The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a long-anticipated follow-up to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

A return to a famous Hollywood world

The new film revisits the universe Quentin Tarantino created in 2019, this time with David Fincher behind the camera.
Tarantino wrote the script, while Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth — the role that earned him an Academy Award.

Debicki described the experience as deeply satisfying.
The production filmed for nearly six months in Los Angeles, a long shoot that allowed the cast and crew to settle into a rhythm.

Alongside Pitt, the film also stars Scott Caan, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Carla Gugino.
For Debicki, working with Fincher was a highlight she spoke about with obvious affection.

    “I loved working with Brad”

Debicki didn’t hesitate when asked about collaborating with Pitt.
She described the experience as joyful, calling Booth an “iconic” role and saying she felt genuinely happy on set.

Her comments carried the tone of someone who knew she was part of something carefully made — not rushed, not noisy, but deliberate.
It’s a style that fits well with Fincher’s reputation and Pitt’s long-standing screen presence.

    Balancing prestige projects

While the Fincher film may dominate headlines, Debicki is also front and center in Wicker.
The film is directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson and features an ensemble cast including Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, and Peter Dinklage.

The project continues a pattern in Debicki’s career: moving fluidly between large-scale productions and more intimate, character-driven work.
She recently appeared in season two of The Night Manager, further reinforcing her presence in prestige television.

    Looking ahead, staying grounded

When asked about what she’s hoping for in 2026, Debicki kept her answer simple.
More work, she said — and the right people to work with.

She spoke about the importance of surrounding herself with collaborators who are honest and kind, acknowledging that control in the industry is limited.
Choosing who you work with, she suggested, is one place where agency still matters.

Netflix is expected to release The Adventures of Cliff Booth later in 2026.
For Debicki, it marks another step forward — not a sudden leap, but a steady climb built on thoughtful choices.
