Remains found in Delaware County’s Ridley Creek State Park actually belonged to a deer, not a human, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The remains were discovered by a pair of hikers on Friday, March 6 inside the park near Chapel Hill Road.
In their initial report, state police said the Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office examined the remains and determined they belonged to a human. In an update Sunday, PSP said a “more extensive examination of the alleged human remains” confirmed they were from a deer.
Upper Providence Township Police assisted state police with the investigation.
