The discovery has left friends, family and community members reeling—and investigators say the case is one of the most harrowing they’ve seen. Kaniah was last seen at her home in Portageville on the evening of Monday, November 3, 2025. Concern grew quickly when she wasn’t heard from, and the local Hayti Police Department called in support from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) to…

President Trump exempted foods like beef, coffee and bananas from his sweeping country-by-country tariffs on Friday, as his administration grapples with cost-of-living frustrations and quickly rising prices for some types of food. The new exemption covers a range of tropical products that are often imported to the United States, including coffee, tea, bananas, mangoes, avocados, coconuts, pineapples, cocoa and spices such as nutmeg, according to an executive order. It also covers beef, oranges and tomatoes. The White House said Mr. Trump decided to exempt the products on Friday because he’s made “substantial progress” in negotiating trade deals with other countries. A…

A suspect accused of ransacking Acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba’s office on Wednesday is in custody, U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi said. “No one will get away with threatening or intimidating our great US Attorneys or the destruction of their offices,” Bondi said Saturday in a statement on social media, thanking law enforcement. A day after foods like coffee, beef and bananas were declared exempt from his country-by-country tariffs, one large tariff issued by President Trump looms for Italian pasta makers. The threat of a potential 107% pasta tariff started with the U.S. Commerce Department launching what it says was a routine antidumping review, based on allegations Italian pasta makers sold product into the US at below-market prices and undercut local competitors. Now the Commerce Department is considering levying an additional 92% in duties, which would come on top of the 15% tariff President Donald Trump’s administration imposed on European exports generally. The news sent…
