Maxwell Anderson Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murder of Sade Robinson

Maxwell Anderson, a 34-year-old from Milwaukee, has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder and dismemberment of 19-year-old college student Sade Carleena Robinson. The judge handed down the sentence on August 1, stating he would not be eligible for parole.

Anderson was found guilty in June of first-degree intentional homicide, dismembering a corpse, arson, and hiding a corpse. Evidence showed that he killed Robinson on a first date and distributed her remains throughout Milwaukee County.

During the sentencing, Robinson’s mother, Sheena Scarbrough, expressed her anger towards Anderson, labeling him as a “demon.” She made it clear how deeply the crime impacted the family and the community. Her husband, Carlos Robinson, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Everything that he did should be done to him.”

Although Anderson’s attorney requested that the judge consider making him eligible for parole due to his military background and mental health claims, the judge firmly denied the request. Anderson also maintained his innocence during the hearing, stating he would appeal the convictions.

Circuit Judge Laura Crivello described Anderson’s actions as “unconscionable” and noted that his perspective on reality was vastly different from that of others. She also imposed additional sentences for other charges, while dismissing one count after defense arguments.

The case drew attention not only for its horrendous nature but also for the powerful statements made by Robinson’s family during the proceedings, emphasizing the profound loss felt by those who knew her.
